Photographer Marianne Kjølner snapped this pair of photographs of a bizarre tree in Denmark. Of the photo she says: “This old pink house is situated at the old dunes, a few hundred meters from the west coast, a very windy place were there isn’t much that can grow. So the tree can only grow where it has shelter.”

Would you take a dip in a swimming pool that once functioned as a subway station?

Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet, a center-right candidate for mayor of Paris and former environment minister, has unveiled a series of plans to turn the legendary “ghost stations” of the Paris Metro into underground oases.

THIS IS SO COOL I LOVE THINGS LIKE THAT

Cool but impossible because a/ the stations are owned by a private company that may be 100% supported by the French state, yet it has over 4 000 millions € of debt, b/ that would be insanely expensive to build considering the stations are not meant for such infrastructure, c/ Passengers would have to entirely pay it from their own pocket before they could actually enjoy the new places - and pay again for it. (and the métro monthly subscription already costs me more than my phone subscription, my health insurance and home insurance combined, so no thank you.)
